Events in Grid 2 include traditional races, drifting contests, head-to-head action in Face-Off mode, high-speed sprints in Time Attack mode, last-one-out races in Eliminator mode, and the arcade-style Overtake mode in which racers earn points and multipliers for passing other vehicles. The game also introduces a new LiveRoutes feature, which tests reaction time by altering the course route in the middle of a race, potentially sending players in six different directions.
